Groves Cottage
Groves Cottage is a weather boarded single storey cottage located in a quiet lane in the heart of the conservation area of the village of St Margarets-at-Cliffe. The cottage affords opportunities for walking and cycling, exploring the beautiful historic Kent Coastline.
Groves Cottage is set in the middle of its garden with adjacent parking for up to two cars. St Margarets-at-Cliffe boasts three hostelries, all of which serve food and access to free wi-fi. The village also has a General Store and Post Office. Traditional tea shops are a short walk away, as is the beach at the nearby St Margarets Bay where there is a further Pub and snack bar. The cottage is ideally located for visits to the Cathedral city of Canterbury for shopping and sight seeing and the history of Dover and it’s Castle.
St Margaret’s-at-Cliffe
St Margaret’s-at-Cliffe is a delightful village nestled between the seaside towns of Dover and Deal. There are many scenic walks which can be taken from the village to the beach; the famous White Cliffs or to neighbouring villages. National Cycle Route 1 runs through the village as part of the Sandwich to Rye Route of NC1 & 2. The adjacent St Margaret’s Bay marks the closest point to France. A farmers’ market is held in the village every Friday between 9am and 12.30am. There is a good sized enclosed Childrens’ play area in the village, a short walk from the cottage which caters for toddlers and older children up to approximately 12 years.
The South East England/Kent region
Kent is steeped in history and heritage and is world renowned as the Garden of England. The extensive coastline boasts an array of beaches and water sports activities.
It’s easy to visit Kent and its also very easy to visit London from Kent with high speed rail links, there’s never been a better time to stay.
The Dover and Deal area
Dover is a historic town, famous for its Castle and White Cliffs and significance to England as a route for trade and defence.
Don’t forget to bring your passport as France and continental Europe is only a short hop away for a day trip by ferry for Lunch or shopping, through the Port of Dover.
Deal is an ancient Cinque Port with a Tudor Castle and a modern pier. There’s plenty to do for visitors of all ages.
